The battle with the PROTODEVLIN having come to an end the MACROSS 7
fleet continues it's voyage. By now FIRE BOMBER is one of the hottest
bands and performs regularly in venues packed with adoring fans; but
it's not enough to keep Basara contented for long and so he wonders off
all by himself with only his guitar as companion. Stopping at the planet
ZOLA where GALACTIC WHALES are said to come around once a year. He meets
a young girl named ELMA and her father, GRAHAM, who is single minded in
his pursuit of the GREAT WHITE GALACTIC WHALE. The season of the whales
is just beginning.
Macross Dynamite 7 is a Macross 7 based OVA series released late 1997 through 1998.
It is a 4 part series, made to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Macross and
also to continue the plot of Macross 7 - although it is pretty much a stand-alone
series as well. As an OVA its animation quality is far
improved from the M7 TV series, and even better than the
Macross 7 movie. The extremely talented CG (computer graphics) creators Gonzo
are utilized like never before to produce some jaw dropping
scenes, particularly evident in the Opening sequence for Dynamite 7
that changes a little for each episode.
