Overall this CD is pretty good for the Dynamite fan, but doesn't stand up amazingly well as a CD in its own right. There is a bit too much drama for my liking, and none of it is really accessible to a non-Japanese speaker, like, for example some of the stuff on "Docking Festival" is. In fact, even if you can speak Japanese these drama sections are rather esoteric and weird. They are the drama sections heard in the background during the Dynamite 7 episodes. The Fold Stream is just speaking as well, and the CM's are radio commercials, some of which are also heard in the background audio of the anime.

But there just aren't enough good new songs on this CD for someone just after music. Yumi no michi ~ ON THE ZOLA ROAD is practically the same as the Humming Bird song and the same goes for MY SOUL FOR YOU ~ ZOLA DREAMIN' - its almost the same as the version on Acoustic Fire. I guess if you don't have all these other CD's this is less of a problem. The main tracks worth listening to lots are Mizu no you na Ai no you na, ANGEL VOICE, and last but probably the best of all STARLIGHT DREAM. These tracks are so good, along with all the extras thrown in, this makes the CD well worth getting for me!

Angel Voice a bit hard to instantly like for the English speaker as there is no easy refrain... however its growing in my opinion every time I hear it - and doubtless the scenes in Dynamite part 4, which I haven't seen while writing this review, will be spectacular and make the song truely stand out. The novelty of the whales humming away in the background is also incredibly cool of course! GINGA KUJI-RA!!!!!!! And the kareoke version means you can hear them alone ^_^.

STARLIGHT DREAM... What can I say? I don't think I have taken such an instant liking to a song - even one by Fire Bomber - for some time. The effect will probably wear off but it just has amazing appeal to me, and some nice English sections which are easy to sing along to - if you like that kind of thing of course!
I am pretty annoyed by the lack of an Acoustic version of New Frontier (would have been much better than the kareoke version included), and of course no "kuji-ra" song, although that was always a long-shot to be included.
The Zora Planet Dance's are nice novelties though, in fact the Elma and Basara one even has different guitaring, which is cool.

So all in all, some nice stuff, but my no means vital, other than to get the three tracks mentioned.

My review :
3 out of 5
