Spacer Macross Dynamite 7 Episode Guide

Episode Guide Descriptions:

Notes - my specific notes on an episode, things to watch for etc. I will not give any major story details and definately no major spoilers.
Song Anime Debuts - Which songs first appear in that episode, and if a different version is used, this is noted. "(no CD)" means that version of the song is NOT found on ANY of the soundtrack CD's available, much to my annoyance a lot of the time!
Importance Rating - out of 5. I mark the episode in how vital I see it in the role of following the entire series. This might be useful if you are wanting to show someone only selected episodes or if you have missed or are missing an episode for some reason, and want to know how bad you will miss it.
Released - Release date in Japan. There have been no official Western releases of ANY Macross 7 material.
Other? - I will also add links to episode synopses or full scripts available, on my site, or others.

Episode #1 "Wander"

Notes:
The official English episode title is in fact "Wonder" on the Japanese release, however translating the Japanese title reveals this is actually a mistake, and it probably should really be "Wander".
The soundtrack BGM for Dynamite 7 is mixed from the BGM for Macross 7 TV, Macross II and Macross Plus, and is very interesting listening for the the Macross music otaku. Elma also sings some Fire Bomber songs but in a made up language - Zolan.

Song Anime Debuts:
Dynamite Explosion, New Frontier - acoustic style (no CD) - I call it the "Kuji-ra Fight Version", Go (Jiyuu na Uta), Parade, Planet Dance in Zolan.

Importance Rating: 5

Released: 18th Dec 1997

Episode #2 "Cemetery"

Notes:
The 2nd episode of Dynamite 7, and it is even more amazing than the first!
One incredible thing to watch for is that one of Elma's songs is in fact a Zolan version of a track by Humming Bird (the band that forms the basis of Fire Bomber's musicians, see Fire Bomber section for more details). More Humming Bird info coming soon.

Song Anime Debuts:
Feel Universe, Yumi no michi - sung by Elma (no CD)

Released: 25th Feb 1998

Episode #3 "Lonesome"

Notes:
The release date for this episode was pushed back.
The opening credits slowly change through the episodes of Dynamite 7. On episode 1 it's possibly the best anime opening sequence EVER, but by episode 3 it has reached INSANE levels of brilliance, and again caused me to go crazy when I first saw it. There are a lot more crowd scenes and shots of the Fire Bomber band members in the concert now.

Episode #4 "Singing Star of the Galactic Whales"

Notes:
The release date for the final episode of the series was pushed back even further.

Angel Voice - acoustic style (no CD), Wild Life - sound messed with a lot.
