Mechs of Dynamite 7
General
Most of the mechs in Dynamite 7, are far from being "new".
The 3 new Valkyries are remodelled versions of existing designs. Now whilst this
might sound like they are cutting corners with the production,
I think it actually makes the continuity seem more realistic. I mean
why should there be new Valkyrie's designed the whole time?
Thanks to Graham Parkes and Oliver Barder
for some mecha information and comments.

VT-1C
Pilot: Basara
Details: A remodelled VT-1, with a harpoon gun. It is equipped with
FAST packs and looks really cool! Basara is without his VF-19, and so
uses this Valkyrie to travel into space and sing! Singing from a VF-1
seems to blend the old and new Macross rather nicely for me.
VF-1's from Opening Sequence #1
VF-5000G

Pilot: Laiza, and other Zora Police
Details: A remodelled VF-5000 - first found in the Macross Plus This is Animation Special
(OVA version), which included a "Variable Fighters Report".
It looks a little like a fatter VF-19, with a dorsal mounted
FAST pack in Fighter mode. Until Dynamite 7 it was never seen in Battroid
or Gerwalk in the anime or design work!
The VF-5000G is equiped with a weapon looks similar to the VF-1 type GU-11 55mmX3 gunpod not a
speaker pod or harpoon weapon, and it appears to have some micro-missile launchers
on the FAST pack, side of the legs, and on the forearms.

VC-3 Kai

Pilot: Unknown
Details: This is a similarly remodelled
version of the VA-3 (also from the same Macross Plus TIA book as the VF-5000), with
harpoon and whaling type weapons.
Graham's Suit
Pilot: Graham
Details: Equipped with harpoon weapons. Seems to have no power
source and so is unaffected by the Galactic Whale's disruption of
normal mechanized equipment.
VF-19P 'Zolan'
Pilot: Basara
Details: To come.
VF-19 Timeline:
The varying designs of the VF-19 across the series of Macross
has lead to some questions about the timeline of
its development. Graham Parkes
has written this interesting article of ideas on the subject.
The VF-19 Question.
VF-22C
Pilot: Gamlin
Details: Slightly remodelled VF-22 from those seen
in Macross 7 TV. Black with yellow trim, like the VF-17S from Diamod Force.
