Macross 7 the Movie is a short 30 min movie released in 1995 to feature in a double-bill with Macross Plus Movie Edition. It was subsequently released seperately to the MacPlus Movie on VC and LD.

Its really little more than an extra TV epsiode, although the animation quality is a bit nicer, and its set away from the main events of the series at the time on another planet. I can't remember exactly where it fits into the TV series timeline, but it is in the late 30's somewhere. It makes an INCREDIBLE introduction to Macross 7 really. If you want to get the feel of the series in just 30 mins - this Movie is where it's AT! It also features some incredible new songs in 'Heart and Soul' and 'Flash in the Dark' and the Acoustic version of Remember 16 that are included on the Heart and Soul CD single released for the Movie.
